I have some promising news for you. In CD 1, this week the spread of the virus is slowing. Infections have slowed to a few dozen a day (half of what they were just a few months ago) and deaths are down to one or two a day. There will be spikes, but we are moving in the right direction. But, we are still far from where we were before the pandemic.
This is due to your devotion to wearing a mask, keeping your social distance, and washing your hands frequently. Thank you! Let’s keep our commitment to each other so we can overcome this crisis sooner than later.
This week I am proud of hosting two Domestic Violence Virtual Workshops. I know that in many families, unfortunately, violence occurs. We brought together experts and agencies that offered help to those who are not safe at home. We have four more workshops through October 1st.
You only have less than three weeks to complete the census (https://my2020census.gov ). 10 minutes of your time determines how your community is funded for 10 years.
Please also take advantage of a FREE Pop-up Testing in Highland Park on N. Figueroa St. and Ave. 55 on Saturday, September 12th from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with no appointment necessary.
