Experiencing Day of the Dead in Nicaragua
November 2nd is Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) in Nicaragua and we were invited to take part in the celebrations by Imogen’s Spanish teacher.
We arrived at the cemetery in Granada at 8:30 am and made our way around for over 2 hours. We were met with warm smiles by friends, our students and strangers and we really enjoyed walking around the cemetery watching families decorate the graves of their loved ones and ancestors.
