A team of Salvadoran-American chefs from restaurant La Casita Pupusería prepared a 20-foot mega pupusa during the last weekend of September in Washington D.C. The chefs achieved their goal, setting a new Guinness World Record, surpassing the previous record of 18 feet.
The event took place on Saturday, September 28th at Fiesta DC at 11 a.m.

The attempt was attended by DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, who cut and served the first ceremonial pieces of the pupusa. The pupusa was served with curtido, a traditional Salvadoran cabbage slaw.
