MEET KAREN BASS
Karen is a proud daughter of Los Angeles. She was raised with three brothers in the Venice/Fairfax area of Los Angeles and is the only daughter of DeWitt and Wilhelmina Bass. As a child, sitting with her father, Karen watched the dawn of the Civil Rights Movement unfold on television, which sparked her interest in what community activism can achieve. It was then that she made a lifetime commitment to fight for social and economic justice.

No matter who you voted for, I will be a mayor for YOU.
That’s the only way forward.
The crises we are facing affect us all, and all of us must be a part of the solution.
Together, we will get big things done in this city.

THANK YOU, LOS ANGELES!
To the people of our city, my message is this:
We are going to solve homelessness.
We are going to prevent and respond urgently to crime.
Our city is no longer going to be unaffordable for working families.
And know this — that work has already begun.
To the thousands of people who worked on my campaign, thank you.
To everyone who will join our mission to move L.A. in a new direction, thank you.
We will get big things done together.

Our campaign was people-powered by thousands of volunteers, sending a message that we are committed to solutions for homelessness, public safety and affordability in every neighborhood and for every community.

On this #VeteransDay we recommit to serving those who have so valiantly served this country.
No veteran should sleep at night without a roof over their head. May we honor their courage, dedication and sacrifice with action.
Happy Veterans Day.

We feel great about the numbers so far. As we await the next rounds of updates, know we’re already rolling up our sleeves to launch urgent solutions for homelessness, crime and affordability.
The people of L.A. sent a clear message last night.
I am ready to answer their call.

We won’t know the final result of the election tonight, but we do know that we made history with our movement.
Thank you Los Angeles!
If you’re still in line, stay in line! Every vote counts!

I just want to take a second to say thank you to the people of Los Angeles.
Those are the dreams my parents had for this city.
Those are the hopes my daughter and son-in-law had for this city.
And those are the shared hopes we all have for our city’s future.
Know this — when I’m mayor, those dreams and those hopes will be fulfilled.
Polls are open for another 30 minutes. Make your voice heard!
Thank you to ALL.
See you tonight!

@VP: “There’s so much at stake. One of the most important expressions of love of country is to vote.”
Bass says it “means the world to me” to have Harris by her side today & federal support for her vision. - kerry washington @kerrywashington
There is no doubt in my mind that @KarenBassLA is the leader this city needs and deserves. I’m voting for her and I hope you will too! #KarenBassForMayor
There is too much at stake in this election to sit it out.
We can end homelessness, we can make our city safer, and we can make our city more affordable – but ONLY if we do it together.
I just voted. I hope you do too.
