Nació en Managua, Nicaragua, el 16 de AGOSTO de 1988 (31 años).

Ramírez se convirtió en el nicaragüense número 13 en llegar a Grandes Ligas en 2013 con los Filis de Filadelfia.

El pelotero de la Colonia 14 de Septiembre de Managua, está en su cuarta temporada en el mejor beisbol del mundo, aunque esta podría ser su segunda completa, después de la 2016, en la que trabajó la primera mitad con los Rojos de Cincinnati y la segunda con los Angelinos.

  • 14/Septiembre/2017. Angels right-hander JC Ramirez said Wednesday that he has a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his throwing elbow and has received an injection of his own stem cells to promote healing, the same procedure that helped fellow starter Garrett Richards avoid Tommy John surgery last year.
  • 21/Agosto/2017. Los Angeles Angels placed RHP JC Ramirez on the 10-day disabled list retroactive to August 20, 2017. Right elbow strain.

Ramírez empezó su carrera profesional en el 2006, lanzando para los Rookie-Level VSL Mariners. Con ellos, logró 5-1 con un 1.66 ERA en 14 juegos, 13 comienzos.

El lanzó para la Short-Season Everett Aqua Sox en 2007, registrando 3-7 y un ERA de 4.30 en 15 juegos que comenzó.

En 2008, el lanzó para la Class-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers de la Midwest League, yendo 6-9 con un 4.14 ERA en 25 juegos, 22 comienzos.

Con la Class-A Advanced High Desert Mavericks en 2009, el fué 8-10 con un 5.12 ERA en 28 juegos, 27 comienzos. El fué agregado a la nómina de los Mariners’ 40-man el 20 de Noviembre para protegerlo del Sorteo de la Regla 5.

Spent the season with High Desert (A)…Tied for the team lead in starts (27) and was 2nd in innings (142.1) and 3rd in SO (111)…Threw his 2nd professional CG, 7/10 at Modesto (8.0 IP).

2008
Estuvo la temporada con Wisconsin (A). Permitió 3 ER o menos en 18 de sus 22 aperturas. Tuvo una temporada alta de 9 SO cuatro veces: 4/28 vs West Michigan, 5/4 en Great Lakes, 5/10 vs Cedar Rapids y 8/24 vs Quad Cities.
